Avisa Recovery Announces Updated Substance Abuse Recovery Programs for LGBTQ+ Community in New Jersey
Avisa Recovery, a family-owned addiction treatment center based in Toms River, New Jersey, has launched newly updated holistic substance abuse recovery programs specifically tailored for members of the LGBTQ+ community. The programs aim to provide the necessary support for LGBTQ+ individuals to successfully recover from addiction.
Research from the American Addiction Centers has shown that LGBTQ+ adults are twice as likely as their heterosexual counterparts to struggle with substance abuse disorders and illicit drug use. In response to this, Avisa Recovery has developed treatment programs that focus on helping LGBTQ+ patients cope with social isolation, internalized homophobia, and triggers throughout the detox and recovery process.
The comprehensive programs begin with a thorough medical review to ensure personalized solutions that prioritize both mental well-being and physical health. Avisa Recovery takes a holistic approach that combines various treatments, including group therapy and spiritual practices, to guide patients in their recovery journey and minimize the risk of relapse. The center aims to create a safe and non-judgmental environment for patients to focus on healing without distractions.
Depending on individual needs, Avisa Recovery offers residential inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, regular outpatient, and family therapy programs. An addiction recovery specialist closely monitors each patient's progress. The center provides support for both alcohol and drug addiction.
Avisa Recovery's spokesperson emphasized their commitment to addressing systemic barriers that prevent marginalized populations from accessing quality care. Interested parties can find further information on Avisa Recovery's website.

Avisa Recovery (732-863-2595), a family-owned and operated addiction treatment center in Toms River, NJ, announces its newly updated holistic substance abuse recovery programs for members of the LGBTQ+ community in New Jersey.
Toms River, United States - November 7, 2023 /PressCable/ —
With the American Addiction Centers stating that LGBTQ+ adults are twice as likely than their heterosexual counterparts to use illicit drugs or suffer from a substance abuse disorder, Avisa Recovery's latest treatment programs were created to offer LGBTQ+ patients the support they need to successfully recover from their addiction.

The updated programs focus on helping patients find successful coping methods for dealing with social isolation and internalized homophobia while also undergoing detox. The goal is for the patient to recognize their triggers and learn how to avoid or manage them in the future. This is especially important for individuals who choose to remain “in the closet” to avoid discrimination from their family or peers.
All addiction treatment programs begin with a thorough medical review. This allows the team at Avisa to design personalized solutions that consider the patient’s mental well-being along with their physical health. The review will also include targeted questions to assess their current risk of suicide and other mental health issues like depression and anxiety.
Avisa believes in using a holistic approach in all its custom programs. It uses a combination of treatments, from group therapy to spiritual practices, to guide patients along their recovery journey and minimize the risk of relapse. It is important, the team says, that patients feel like they are in a safe and non-judgmental environment so they can focus on healing from their addiction without distraction.
Depending on the needs of the patient, residential inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, regular outpatient, or family therapy programs can be offered. Regardless, all patients work with an addiction recovery specialist who will closely monitor their journey. The addiction rehab offers support for both alcohol and drug addiction.
A spokesperson for the center wrote, "Our multifaceted treatment plan addresses the healing of the entire individual; emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual needs. We believe everyone should have access to quality care. Avisa continuously identifies and addresses systemic barriers that prevent marginalized populations from accessing care."
