He focuses on a patient's ability to function, and can treat multiple conditions that affect the brain, nerves, spine, bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons.
Among his other roles, he is the Medical Director of telehealth clinical evaluations in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is the CEO & Co-Founder of Kopematé Coffee in Paia, Hawaii.
In regards to his educational background, Dr. Martin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Creighton University in 1995. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2000.
Furthering his training, he performed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Wayne State University in 2004, followed by his fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of Michigan in 2005.
Board-certified in pain medicine, Dr. Martin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by advancing the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of initial and continuing certification that fosters professional excellence and a culture of life-long learning.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to people with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists are specialist physicians who treat patients that have had injuries or suffer from disabilities that affect physical and cognitive functioning.
