As the Founder of The African Cultural Exchange, a US-based NGO focused on cross-cultural development in Africa, and with over 20 years of development and medical work experience in sub-Saharan Africa, Dr. Hughes is dedicated to the improvement of the lives of the people of the continent. Additionally, he serves as a military physician in the US Army Reserve where he recently completed a detainee health care mission at Abu Ghraib Prison Hospital in Iraq.
