Early next week, Denver and Broomfield music school, DaVinci Center for Musical Arts, will once again team up with Gymboree Play & Music, Denver to offer their “Piano Playtime” fall session to preschoolers. Piano Playtime is a distinctly unique, age-appropriate, piano lessons program geared towards preschoolers that is gaining increased popularity and recognition throughout many preschools and preschool programs in the Greater Denver and Boulder metro areas. Much of the growing popularity of Piano Playtime ties into the science behind it.

Numerous current research studies have conclusively shown that children who took piano classes during those crucially important, preschool developmental years outpaced their counterparts who engaged in any other activity, including sports, learning foreign languages, violin, and computer classes. Singularly, piano lessons for kids in preschool resulted in greater short-term and life-long brain functioning which led to increased intelligence, physical coordination, self-confidence, concentration, and spatial-temporal reasoning. On top of all that, those children who took piano lessons before 7 years old had physically larger brains than other children.

One mother of a Piano Playtime graduate, who won the 2013 National Science STEM Award at age 13, gave this review about program,

“Piano lessons with the Whole Music Approach (used in Piano Playtime), since age 3 has definitely made a difference in my son’s achievements.”

Maria Hart, founder and teacher of DaVinci Center’s Piano Playtime, likes to stress,”If you have a preschool aged child and live in the Denver area, be sure to sign up for Piano Playtime at Gymboree Play and Music, Denver. The real-world benefits are almost too numerous to count and it’s all packaged into a fun-filled class that your kids will absolutely love!”

Maria continued, “You can also contact us or your child’s preschool director to have Piano Playtime offered at your child’s location. We currently teach Piano Playtime at: Montessori School of Denver, Advantage Learning Center in Lakewood, Schlessman YMCA Child Care Center in Denver: Primrose School of Bear Creek in Denver: Primrose School at Colorado Station: Primrose School of Lafayette, CO, and the Primrose School of Lowry in Denver.”

Piano Playtime at Gymboree Play and Music, Denver (Fall Sessions) starts on October 15th and runs through December 10th. Three separate classes will be held every Tuesday at 3:30pm, 4:15pm, and 5:30pm, so parents have options to suit their busy schedules. Each 40-minute class also has complimentary Gymboree open gym time.
