North American sewing and crafting thread makers Valdani have a new line of perle cotton thread for fringe and tassel-making that is guaranteed to be colorfast.

Valdani has a new collection of naturally hand-dyed perle cotton 100% long-staple floss that is bringing their shoppers richer, deeper and more long-lasting color. The trusted thread makers have long been pioneers in specialized fringe and tassel-making floss, as well as embroidery and punch-needle floss, and they are proud to now be making their thread in a completely natural way that they believe creates a more beautiful final product.

The thread makers are now also releasing their new colorfast and hand-dyed floss in thicker 6-ply skeins which have been made specifically for fringe and tassel-making. In their new colorfast collection, Valdani has released over 130 new solid colors and 170 different variegated hues, which they know are particularly popular for fringe and tassel projects.
Given that fringing and tassels generally accompany other craft and sewing projects, like embroidery, punch-needle and quilting projects, Valdani appreciates that shoppers are often looking for a variety of colors to meet their needs.
That’s why the thread designers have created new 6-ply floss collections that operate like a kind of sample pack. Two popular new collections are simply called their Wonderful Assortments—Solids and Wonderful Assortments—Variegates, which give craftists a comprehensive selection of the color spectrum.
Other new collections have been created by well-known North American sewists like Dawn Heese with her Botanical Sketchbook collection, which features muted earthy greens, blues and browns, with subtle rose pink accents. Also popular is Lynette Anderson’s George and the Donkey, which takes the warmly nostalgic jewel hues from her beloved quilt design.
