As tens of millions start moving into new homes, apartments, and offices this summer, BIG Wall Décor announces a new surrealist art collection to spark creativity and fill empty walls.

The online art retailer released its surrealist collection as the summer moving season hits full swing. The months of May through July are the busiest months for movers, according to the National Association of Realtors. More than 27 million Americans moved in 2022, most during summer, when many workplaces slow down and public schools are out of session.
As a result, many families are currently looking for simple ways to personalize their new space without breaking the bank or their backs. The fabric prints from BIG Wall Décor are a lightweight alternative to traditional canvas wall art, so they’re easy to hang and swap out quickly.
Pieces from the surrealist collection playfully combine common images in unexpected ways that infuse blank walls with creative energy. Among the prints available are modern classics from artist Frank Moth juxtaposing traditional human portraits with bursts of blooms. Customers will also find black-and-white designs from emerging talent Underdott that meld dramatic busts with natural elements, as well as prints from futuristic designer Seamless depicting astronomical themes with unexpected twists.
Surrealist art often blends realistic images in shocking, thought-provoking combinations. Many works are reminiscent of bizarre dreams, in keeping with the movement’s earliest origins. Surrealism emerged in the 1920s as artists tried to tap into the unconscious to free the imagination. The rational mind suppressed the imagination, surrealists believed, so they rejected rationalism and realism in favor of fantasy and illogic.
Creativity flows from these edgy pieces, which seem like they materialized in a dream, or the imagination of an uninhibited child. The intense depictions feel like they could exist in a parallel universe, and give the viewer a glimpse into the artist’s subconscious. Each print purchased from BIG Wall Décor directly supports the artist who created the image.
Surreal artwork doesn’t take itself - or reality - too seriously. As a result, it’s an ideal focal point for spaces where creativity and innovation are key.
The retailer offers its lightweight fabric prints in a variety of sizes and frame types.
