The specialist medical team at Proactive Wellness Centers knows that dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are both life-altering conditions, which often progress swiftly, stripping away a person’s memories, sense of self and even their personality. That’s why their team is proud to be launching their new Brain Health Optimization Program (BHOP) and using treatments from the latest research frontiers to offer their patients new cognitive and behavioral therapies to tackle memory loss and improve brain health.

Proactive Wellness Centers has launched their new specialist dementia and Alzheimer’s treatments in response to the increasing prevalence of these diseases in the community. According to Alzheimer’s Association, over 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, a number that is projected to rise to nearly 13 million by 2050.
While much still remains to be fully understood about the condition, including its causes, the doctors at Proactive Wellness Centers believe more can be done in terms of both prevention and ongoing care.
Therefore, the team at Proactive Wellness Centers is proud to now be offering their patients Bredesen Protocol treatments, which they believe can both improve brain health and reverse cognitive decline.
Dr. Lawson, the head practitioner at the clinic, has done extensive research and worked alongside some of the most renowned innovators in the treatment of dementia and Alzheimer’s. As he explained, “After much research, I determined that the Bredesen Protocol provides the best evidenced-based approach to diagnosing and treating cognitive decline from Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses.”
Using advanced testing and screening procedures, Proactive Wellness Centers will develop a full picture of both a person’s overall health and wellbeing and their neurocognitive function. Using the Bredesen Protocol, they will then develop an intensive treatment plan which will begin with full lifestyle modifications and may include hormone replacement therapy, treatment for other concomitant/contributing chronic diseases, and more.
Proactive Wellness Centers is located in Vienna and they serve patients in Oakton, Tysons, Idylwood, Merrifield and McLean.
A spokesperson for the integrative and regenerative medicine clinic said, “At Proactive Wellness, we believe that there is no more important component of your overall health than brain health. That’s why we are excited to be offering our new Brain Health Optimization Program; helping to lower the risk for dementia/Alzheimer’s and stabilize it for patients that already have early signs and symptoms through effective treatment.”
