The new list of 2024 courses and in-person workshops from Earthbuilding School includes the Build Outside the Box (BOTB) Mastermind Course, as well as the Earth Building Academy, and Introduction to Tadelakt.
Recent statistics from Fortune Business Insights show that the market for green building materials is booming rapidly, as an increasing number of people around the world become interested in construction methods that use natural, local materials and are environmentally friendly. Led by experienced builders Verena Maeder - who has been recognized internationally and has over 30 years of experience with natural building - and Scott Davidson, the courses at Earthbuilding School teach innovative, healthy building techniques that can be accessed by a wide range of people with diverse levels of building experience.
“We support all learners and attempt to create learning opportunities that are meaningful, engaging, and appropriate” says Verena. “We strive to teach you how to masterfully use natural, local materials in new builds and retrofits.”
The organization’s three-month-long Earth Building Academy includes 30+ hours of pre-recorded lessons, 12 weekly Q&A calls, and live skill workshops that are constructed around students’ requirements and preferences.
With lifetime access and a self-paced structure, the BOTB Mastermind online course teaches participants 13 different natural building techniques and also features international educators like Sigi Koko, principal designer at Down to Earth Design and a leader in the natural building community.
In addition to a range of online offerings, Earthbuilding School also hosts in-person workshops and internships, covering topics such as earth wall construction with adobe brick and cob, natural plaster artistry, earthen floors, and lime plaster techniques.
Students at Earthbuilding School have positive reviews for the instructors and courses. “I am thoroughly enjoying my current course,” says Shirley N. “Verena is passionate, extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The demonstrations are comprehensive yet easy to follow, while presentations are well organized. The inclusion of guest speakers widens our experience even further!”
