Samira Buchi, a luxury designer fashion based in Long Island, NY, has recently announced international availability for her entire Nativ Collection. The Nativ Collection is a handcrafted selection of bags that are made to order and manufactured for each individual client in her studio. To coincide with this news, Samira has also announced the new Olina Mini—the latest addition to her Nativ Collection.
Samira was raised in Switzerland and was first exposed to New York City when she was a little girl. She told herself that she would one day live there, and 38 years later, her dedication led her to start from scratch in America. Samira studied accessory design at FIT and made it her purpose to learn everything she could about leather and how to shape it perfectly to even the most intricate of designs. With such a deep understanding of her craft and the materials she uses, Samira produces quality leather handbags that provide style, function and, most importantly, quality to her clients.
With orders open to international customers, Samira’s Nativ Collection can now safely reach clients in the following countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

In her own words, Samira’s Nativ Collection is “straight to the point, no frills, true quality, and an aesthetic that never goes beyond the functionality”.
Due to the intricate detail and quality construction of each handmade bag, there is a period of four to six weeks from the point of sale to the delivery. Throughout the manufacturing process, clients are invited to view the status of their order with individual client pages that show each stage of the bag’s construction. This allows each client to become more emotionally invested in their bag instead of having its history hidden from them. Samira believes it’s important to make the client feel like they are in the studio together, hence why they don’t carry any stock—everything is made to order and its history and progress can be tracked by the client.
“I hope they will enjoy touching it, feeling it, looking at it, and experience a deep emotional bond. They will perhaps also share a little of my history and my roots within the bag. I hope they feel like it’s obvious that this is the bag they wanted to have. Not because it’s on trend, but because it’s part of their life.”
