Medical Practice Offering Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery Moves to State-of-the-Art Location in Murrieta CA

September 03, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Patrick Moore MD Inc., a medical practice headed by Patrick Moore, MD FACS, has announced that he has recently moved his office to a new state-of-the-art location in Murrieta, CA. Dr. Moore’s primary emphasis is on hernia repair and gallbladder surgery. The majority of his surgeries are performed using a minimally invasive approach with the DaVinci robot which allows him to leave many of his patients without visible scarring. A large part of his practice is also involved in breast cancer treatment and he is also an active member of the medical staff of several hospitals in the area.

Dr. Moore himself says, “Hernias most commonly occur in the groin, but can occur anywhere on the abdominal wall. A hernia is a bulge through a weak area of abdominal muscle, usually containing a part of the intestine. Groin hernias make up 75% of all hernias and are most common in men. A hernia repair should be performed before the hernia causes symptoms, such as pain or obstruction.”

He adds, “I make use of robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery to repair groin, umbilical, and abdominal wall hernias through 3 small incisions. Patients generally go home the same day of surgery and are off of pain medications in a few days.”

Meanwhile, the gallbladder is a small organ that stores bile produced by the liver. Bile plays an important role in food digestion in the small intestines. The problem is that gallbladders can become inflamed or gallstones can form, resulting in various symptoms, such as bloating, nausea, and abdominal pain.

The gallbladder may be removed through an open surgery with a large incision or by a minimally invasive approach requiring just four small incisions. Dr. Moore makes use of a robotic-assisted laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, using Firefly technology. This includes a high-definition 3D camera that allows the gallbladder surgeon to view the inside of a patient’s body. Meanwhile, the DaVinci system translates the movements of Dr. Moore accurately to the instruments to remove the gallbladder. The Firefly technology provides real-time data regarding the anatomy of the patient during the procedure.

Meanwhile, breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women, with increasing age as the most common risk factor. Dr. Moore is a member of a multidisciplinary team that includes Medical Oncology, Pathology, Radiation Oncology, and Plastic Surgeons who have specialized in providing treatment for breast cancer. He has more than 20 years of experience in breast surgery. Those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer may want to learn their surgical and treatment options by consulting with Dr. Moore.

Many of Dr. Moore’s patients have left highly positive reviews for Dr. Moore. For instance, Mechelle W. gave the practice a five-star rating and said, “I was referred to Dr Moore for gallbladder removal after sudden onset of symptoms. Staff was very helpful through the whole process. Met with Dr Moore to confirm that I indeed needed surgery. He was very courteous in answering all my questions and put my mind at ease with my concerns. I had surgery 1/24/19 and returned to work on 1/30/19. I have had several major surgeries and this by far was the easiest. No complications. Dr Moore and his staff are great. Would recommend Dr. Moore to anyone in need for General Surgery.”

Meanwhile, Jim G. also gave Dr. Moore five stars and said, “Had hernia surgery done by Dr. Moore. This was my second one and it went extremely well compared to the previous one performed by another Dr. I was up and walking within a few hours and pretty much resumed my daily activities within two weeks considering the size of the hernia. Dr. Moore was concise and to the point and has an excellent staff. I would definitely recommend Dr. Moore to anyone.”
