With the US Senate turning its attention to payment processing charges, payment solutions provider KickFees launches updates to its Fee Shield protection platform.

Senate hearings earlier in 2022 highlighted the extent to which banks have been charging ‘swipe fees’ for the use of credit cards. Senator Dick Durbin stated that $794 billion has been paid in swipe fees (or interchange fees) since 2006, explaining that the US currently places no limit on banks’ use of such fees.
KickFees further points out that banks often impose multiple additional charges, and the enhanced Fee Shield platform is designed to identify and seek refunds for such charges. These can include association fees, annual fees, non-swipe fees, dues and assessments, program fees, and several others.
