New York City, New York May 1, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - A board-certified general surgeon with over 40 years of experience in the field, Dr. Fares II sees patients at the CH Center for Wound Management and Hyperbaric Medicine in Pennington, New Jersey. He has been on staff at Capital Health since 1992 and has made significant contributions to the medical community throughout his distinguished career.

For more than 30 years, the community has utilized Capital Health's certified wound care team of physicians and nurses to provide comprehensive health care for patients with chronic wounds and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for those with qualified conditions. In a collaborative effort with referring physicians: primary care doctors, general/plastic/reconstructive surgeons, radiation oncologists, oral surgeons, podiatrists and dentists, the Center for Wound Management and Hyperbaric Medicine provides comprehensive advanced wound techniques to improve outcomes and decrease the time to heal.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Fares II received his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas Medical School in the Philippines in 1978. After completing his residency in general surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center, he went into private practice for 30 years before joining the team at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey.

During his time at St. Francis, he held several leadership positions, including President of the medical staff for eight years, Chairman of the Department of Surgery for 20 years, and Surgical Director of the Advanced Wound Center for almost a decade.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

With a passion for teaching, Dr. Fares II serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at St. George's Medical School. In the past, he held the position of Program Director of the Surgical Residency Program at St. Francis Medical Center, and has also served as President of the Mercer County Medical Society, as well as Chairman of the board of trustees of the Urban League of Metropolitan Trenton.
