Four Decades of Gumby's Pizza: A Story That Goes Beyond What's In The Oven

Nov 4, 2026

New York City, New York Nov 3, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - For decades, Gumby's Pizza has been known for what's coming out of the oven. But beyond the pizza is a business history spanning four decades, reflecting the importance of brand recognition, commercial relationships, and the value of a familiar name.

Since its beginnings in 1985, Gumby's Pizza has become part of a broader story about the restaurant industry, brand identity, and the commercial significance of names that remain recognizable over time.

Behind the familiar name is a history that reaches beyond the restaurant industry, touching on business interests, brand recognition, and the value of commercial relationships built over time. Some names become familiar. Others become part of a legacy that surpasses their original purpose.

"This isn't about a slice of the pie; this is about the WHOLE pie," said Chance Hippler, Partner/Owner.

Four decades of business history cannot be captured in a single headline. And sometimes, the most interesting part of the story is what happens in the kitchen.
