Dr. Mark Hickman Explains the Importance of Opting for All-Inclusive Vasectomy Reversal Packages

October 11, 2022 - /PressAdvantage/ - Microsurgical Vasectomy Reversals by Dr. Mark Hickman in New Braunfels, Texas, has fine-tuned the procedure of reversing a vasectomy to make it extremely affordable for all individuals and families who need it.

On its website, the clinic says that its goal is to “offer couples and families the lowest possible price for a vasectomy reversal so that all people feeling the call to have children can reach that goal in an affordable and ethical way.” In line with his mission, Dr. Hickman charges a very modest all-inclusive fee for his vasectomy reversal procedure.

He offers his patients two options which they can choose from based on their level of comfort and budget. The $3,300 option comes with local anesthesia and an oral sedative. For patients who would like to be completely sedated during the procedure, Dr. Hickman also offers the $4,200 option that is performed under IV sedation administered by a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist. Both microsurgical options are all-inclusive with no hidden fees.

When asked to elaborate on the all-inclusive nature of the fees for the vasectomy procedure, Dr. Hickman says, “After the initial procedure to reverse a vasectomy, called a vasovasostomy, there is an examination to determine whether it was a success. A sample of fluid from the testicular end of the now rejoined vas deferens is placed on a glass slide and examined under a laboratory microscope for the presence of sperm cells. In case, the fluid is thick, pasty, and contains no sperm, it indicates that the vas is obstructed at two levels - at the vasectomy site and by rupture of the tube in the epididymis. So, this necessitates a vasoepididymostomy, the microscopic invagination of the epididymal tube into the lumen of the vas deferens. Many medical facilities that offer vasectomy reversals charge separately for the vasovasostomy and vasoepididymostomy procedures. However, here at Microsurgical Vasectomy Reversals in New Braunfels, Texas, we understand that most individuals and families might not be prepared to bear the additional cost in case the first procedure doesn’t yield results. That is why I insist on only charging an all-inclusive fee that covers the cost of both procedures, in case the second procedure is required. Once you come to us, you can rest assured that you are going to walk away with a successful vasectomy reversal without any additional expenses.”
