American Public Life Names Laura Gower and Susan Relland as Presidents
Jul 24, 2023
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Jul 24, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - American Public Life Insurance Company (APL) announced today that Laura Gower and Susan Relland will be leading the company as Co-Presidents. They will work with executive leadership to continue making APL the broker's carrier of choice.
As President of Sales and Marketing, Gower's primary focus will be continuing to build the Regional Manager Sales Team and supporting APL's key broker partners -- work she began earlier this year serving as APL's Chief Revenue Officer. Gower has been with the Cameron Group for the last 33 years in sales leadership roles.
"APL thrives because of the outstanding service our support colleagues provide to our brokers and their customers, and building on that foundation, I'm excited about the amazing growth we're going to achieve," Gower said.
Relland joins APL as President of Operations. She brings with her a wealth of experience as an employee benefits attorney, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for affiliated Cameron Companies and founder/CEO of AFAS, which helps employers with Affordable Care Act and other benefits compliance activities. Relland will continue to serve as the Chair of APL's Board of Directors.
"Laura and Susan have a long history of successful sales and service collaboration," said Gary Tredway, APL Senior CEO. "The Cameron Family and Board of Directors believe their unified vision, enthusiasm about helping APL achieve its potential and strong belief in the strength of the colleagues and broker partners will help lead APL to a new level of success."
Gower and Relland succeed Jerry Horton, who left the company in July. Horton served as APL President/CEO since 2020.
Founded in 1945, American Public Life Insurance Company (APL) is expanding the benefits horizon as a leading provider of voluntary worksite benefits, with offices in Oklahoma City and Jackson, MS. APL is licensed to conduct business in 49 states with sales through independent brokers. APL has a financial rating of "A+ (Superior)" through A.M. Best (www.ambest.com).
